Anisomorphic game board twisting through space

Anisomorphic

The rules never stay still.

Why it exists.

An evolving strategy game built around a board whose shape—and therefore the meaning of every move—can change.

Explore strategy on a board that behaves less like a fixed arena and more like an active part of the game.

How I’m approaching it.

  1. 01

Prototype the spatial idea in a playable browser build instead of trying to settle every rule on paper.

  2. 02

Make changes to the board readable as game state, not merely as visual spectacle.

  3. 03

Use short play loops to discover which transformations create real choices and which only create noise.

Where the idea pushes back.

01

Teaching a moving system

Players need to understand a position even when the underlying geometry is capable of changing.

02

Strategic legibility

Novelty matters only if players can still form plans, read threats and learn from a loss.

03

Coherence over cleverness

Every unusual rule has to strengthen the central idea rather than compete with it.

What exists now that didn’t before.

  • A playable web prototype rather than a rules-only concept.
  • A distinct visual language for a changing strategic space.
  • A clear core premise that can support continued experimentation.

The living record.
